There is a children's story about a newly-hatched bird who asks even the most unlikely of candidates if they are his mother. I’m beginning to wonder if the great blue heron pictured here is MY mother! This is the second time I've captured this bird in a small corner of my images, not realizing it until I returned home. It seems to magically appear when I’m reviewing the photos, a simple reminder of Mama's presence.
