Description
Anything calm after my mother’s death — be it the ocean, a person, seriously anything — baffled me. Only a few weeks after her passing, the ocean should have been violently thrashing with a strong current and fierce waves. It should have reflected the turmoil I felt. Instead, it betrayed me by reflecting the opposite. It was, in a word, calm.
