A couple of months after Mama's death, I needed a break from cleaning out and organizing her belongings. I visited her grave then went for a short drive around my old stomping grounds, and came across this freshly-baled hay. I love how the field looks so neat and tidy and the farmer must feel a great sense of pride when finished. Pride is exactly what I feel when I think about Mama. She was truly an amazing person — the type who would always bale someone else's hay before worrying about her own.
